WA LA ! ! ! Finally finished my congee stand! *clap clap clap*so happy!
It took me 8-10 hours to finish the whole stand.
Most of the things below are made out of clay (the food, the chinese wok, the sauces)
Front view of the congee stand ..
TA DA! my congee stand!
Lets start with the right side of the stand ..
Two bowls of preserved egg & pork congee 皮蛋瘦肉粥. On top of the congee, there is preserved egg 皮蛋, pork 瘦肉, and the yellow strips are ginger strips 薑絲, and the green thing are diced green onion 蔥.
Next to the two bowls of congee, there are two dishes of steamed rice roll 蒸腸粉, and those four little bowls are sauces: soy sauce 鼓油, peanut butter sauce 花生醬, hoi sin sauce 海鮮醬, hot sauce 辣醬.
Behind the sauces, there is a dish of preserved egg and green onion for the congee.
Next to the steamed rice roll, there's a tray of fried dough 油炸鬼, 牛利酥, 咸煎餅 (from right to left)
Here is the back side of the congee stand.
Chinese fried dough inside the Chinese wok, the yellow thing is boiling oil. Again, everything here is made out of clay (the Chinese wok, the fried dough) except for the chop stick, the pair of chop stick is just two toothpicks.
Next to the Chinese wok, there's a steaming "container" with steamed rice roll inside and a chopping board.
Chopping board: There is a raw dough on top of the chopping board and there's a blade 刀片 on top of the raw dough for slicing it up, the white powder around the chopping board and the dough is the flour.

Wow ! What a beauty.....add some dried shrimp and green onion on the 齋腸 please..LOL.
ReplyDeleteMJ
Thank you!! =D
ReplyDeletelol. I would do that if its a dim sum place, but I guess back then they sell 齋腸 on the street? cuz its easier n faster to make?
Grace
I bet you were too young to know how it was then =) There were 3 different kinds one with shrimp and green onion, then the plain 齋腸 and one made with brown sugar sweet in taste which was not too popular even then, don't think manty people remember that.
ReplyDeleteMJ
There you go,I just made a Google search, they still make it.

I have never seen it! that's cool! it looks like 砵仔糕 in a roll shape! does it taste like 砵仔糕 and does the texture like 砵仔糕??
DeleteGrace
Kind of similar taste, but serve with roasted sesame seeds and paste (not peanut butter paste).
ReplyDeleteMJ
Speechless with your creation. So beautifully done. Thanks for showing us. I am not mistaken for your talent
ReplyDeletethank you! =) i will keep up the good work!!
DeleteGrace
:)
ReplyDeleteHow would you treat all your clay creations? Do you have a collection shelf to display them
ReplyDeleteI bought this glass cabinet from ikea to store my clay creations =D:
Deletehttp://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/10011055/
Grace
I am willing to adopt whatever you cannot fit into your glass cabinet. =D
DeleteMJ
I just looked at your ikea link, it's exactly the same glass cabinet I have, it's kind of shaky :(
DeleteMJ
hahaha! how did you know i can't fit them geh??
DeleteThe cabinet only have 4 levels, top 2 already filled with Gundam figures
the bottom for my disney figures.
only one level for the miniatures.. it's full already, can't put anymore miniatures la =/
guess i will buy another cabinet hahahaa!
Grace
I got the same shelf black in color for my crystals. Glad to hear that you will have more rooms for new miniatures. That means more are coming!!!
ReplyDeletesigh i was going to get the black color too! i like darker color wood, my bookshelf, my bed frame are all black/dark dark brown wood..
Deletebut this glass cabinet is a gift from a friend. so yea...
haha of course more are coming! I'm so addicted to making clay miniatures! I spend time making miniatures probably 2-3 days a week.
Grace
Ng...How could you have a black one. Ah you can have the black new one placed in a different corner. If they need to be side by side then will be a pair with the same color. I see your situation!
ReplyDeleteall my furniture are black/dark brown wood. Its so weird the glass cabinet is light brown no matter where i put it haha. I guess soon i will paint it dark brown to match with my furniture in my room! haha =)
ReplyDeleteGrace
Go ahead to buy a pair of dark brown colour glass cabinets and accept my frienly offer, I am more than happy to adopt your light colour cabinet with display, so we both have a pair of same colour cabinets.=D
ReplyDeleteI promise to take good care of them and talk to them everyday....LOL
MJ
Just kidding !
ReplyDeletelol talk to them! haha
Deleteseems like everyone has this cabinet at home eh?
Grace
Haha most economical and functional. Flexible to add more if needed. But very expensive to replace it's bulb! Lol
ReplyDeletehow much was it? I think I saw something like $13-15 for the bulb last time I went Ikea.
DeleteGrace
The cheapest I can find is home depot at about $7 or $8. It is difficult to find the bulb especially for 10W. Not always available!
ReplyDeletethe home depot one fits our cabinet ma?? that's awesome, should check out home depot sometimes! thanks! =D
DeleteGrace
Fit perfectly ok la. I just replace mine.
ReplyDeleteDon't know why the life of the bulb is so short. I only have it on once in a while
I am thinking to convert the light into LED that will be more energy efficient and last longer then I can have it on all the time.
DeleteMJ
someone was suggesting this idea to me last night haha =) let me know how it goes after u convert it into LED
DeleteGrace
It's funny, 個個都認老, 我都未出聲. :)
ReplyDeleteD

DeleteGrace

My dad always call me "大BB" 因為長大了但都係BB一名 =.=""
Grace
做細嘅好處係乜都唔駛做, 大事驚妳揹唔起, 小事又唔駛搵你. :)
DeleteD
其實做細係最好架啦, D大既錫哂你讓哂你, 但係我覺得做細唯一唯一既唔好處就係有好大壓力啊=.="" 媽成日叫我學下D家姐啊哥睇下佢地幾叻幾叻
